The Accountants' Paradox
A Gallup Poll was recently taken to determine the views of accountants on the accounting profession. Two of the questions concerned the sense of humor of accountants. Poll results showed that with an accuracy of plus or minus 3% 19 times out of 20 that:
- 87% of accountants surveyed believed that accountants in general displayed a sense of humor significantly less than the general population; and
- 91% of accountants surveyed believed their own personal sense of humor was significantly greater than the general population, and of course vastly superior to all those other accountants.
